How to Measure Your Wall
Measuring your wall only takes a couple of minutes.

Measure the width
Measure the widest part of your wall from one side to the other.

Measure the height
Measure from the floor (or top of the skirting board) to the ceiling at the tallest point.

Add a little extra
Add 5 cm (2") to both the width and height. This gives you a little extra for trimming during installation and helps if your walls or ceilings aren't perfectly straight.

Measuring Tips

- ✓Measure in metres (or switch units if available).
- ✓Include windows and doors. Your mural is printed as one complete design and can be trimmed during installation.
- ✓If your wall isn't perfectly square, always use the largest width and the tallest height.

Each mural arrives in numbered panels, sized to align and butt-join on your wall. Most customers hang a 3 × 2.5 m mural in around 90 minutes — two people makes alignment easier on anything taller than 2.5 m. Peel-and-stick murals skip the paste section entirely.

Preparation

Make sure the surface is smooth and clean
Remove any old paint or wallpaper that's lifting, clean the wall, and fill any gaps. If the surface is porous — freshly skimmed walls, old paper, particle board — apply a primer, mist coat, or sizing first. On dense, non-porous surfaces the paste can take several days to dry, since our murals are less breathable than standard wallpaper. Prime bright or strongly coloured walls so the colour doesn't show through.

Mix the wallpaper paste (sold separately)
Fill a clean bucket with 4 litres (1 US gallon) of cold water and slowly add the paste powder while stirring briskly. Leave it to stand for 5 minutes, then stir again. The paste should be thick — don't add more water or the mural may not adhere. One bag covers around 20–22 m². If you'd rather use ready-mixed paste, choose one labelled for non-woven wallpaper or a paste with under 20% dry content.

Check the wallpaper before you start
Lay out the panels and confirm none are missing, marked, or damaged. Panels are numbered at the top in the order they should hang. Work from left to right.

Get the first panel perfectly vertical
The whole mural follows the first panel — so make it straight. Use a spirit level to mark a faint vertical line one panel width (50 cm) in from the corner, then hang the first panel against that line. Keep the marks light so they don't show through the print.

Paste the wall, not the paper
Apply paste directly to the wall with a roller or brush. Cover the whole area — an unpasted patch will cause a blister later. Paste roughly one panel width ahead of where you're hanging.

Hang panels edge to edge
Panels should butt together, never overlap. Press the seams firmly with a seam roller for a clean join. Match the pattern carefully against the previous panel, and keep paste off the front — any that dries on the face will be visible. Avoid sharp creases; they can crack the print.

Smooth from ceiling to floor
Use your hands or a wallpaper brush, starting from the middle of each panel and working out towards the edges. Small bubbles and folds settle as the mural dries. If paste does get on the front, dab it off with a damp sponge or cloth — don't rub.

Trim any excess
Once every panel is up, run a sharp knife along a trim guide to take off the excess at the ceiling, floor, and around fittings.
Wait 24 hours for drying
Let the mural dry fully before pushing furniture back against the wall or hanging anything from it. Need the full deep-dive? Read the installation guide.
Production runs Monday to Friday from our printer in the USA. Your file is reviewed within 24 hours of payment and printing typically begins on the next business day.
Production takes 2-3 business days. Shipping adds another 5–9 business days depending on destination, with tracked courier delivery to most addresses.
Total: most orders arrive within 7-12 business days of checkout. You'll receive a tracking link as soon as your mural leaves the print floor.
International orders may incur customs charges on arrival. These are set by your country and aren't included in our price.
We print at 300 DPI on substrates rated for residential and light commercial use. Colours hold up under normal indoor light for 8–10 years before any visible fade.
Inks are water-based, solvent-free, and certified for use in homes with children and pets. Our substrates are PVC-free and FSC-certified where available.
Each mural is print-checked before it ships. If a panel arrives damaged or the print doesn't match the approved proof, we reprint it at no cost — full policy on the refund page.
