Installation Guide

Follow these steps to prepare your file, measure your wall, and install your Jovorie mural for a perfect finish.

Prepare Your Image File

  • Use the highest resolution version of your image — original camera files are best.
  • 300 DPI at the final print size is ideal. 150 DPI is the minimum we accept.
  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, TIFF. Maximum file size: 500 MB.
  • Colour mode: RGB. Our team will handle print colour conversion.
  • Avoid heavy JPEG compression — use the highest quality setting when saving.

Measure Your Wall

  • Measure the width and height of the area you want to cover, in metres.
  • Measure to the nearest centimetre (e.g. 3.24m).
  • Add 2–5cm to each dimension if you want edge-to-edge coverage with a small overlap.
  • Account for skirting boards, ceiling coving, or any features you want to exclude.

Prepare the Wall Surface

  • The wall must be clean, dry, and smooth.
  • Fill any holes or imperfections with filler and sand flat once dry.
  • Apply a coat of paint or primer if the surface is porous or newly plastered.
  • Remove switch plates and socket covers before installation.
  • Allow freshly painted walls to cure for at least 4 weeks before applying vinyl.

Installing Vinyl Murals (Matt & Gloss)

  • Start from the top-left corner and work across and downward.
  • Peel back a small section of the backing paper and align carefully.
  • Use a squeegee or credit card to press the vinyl flat, working out bubbles from the centre.
  • Overlap each panel by 2–3mm to avoid visible gaps.
  • Use a craft knife to trim edges cleanly at skirting boards and corners.

Installing Fabric Murals

  • Apply standard wallpaper paste to the wall in manageable sections.
  • Unfold the fabric panel and position from the top, smoothing downward.
  • Use a soft brush to smooth out any air pockets.
  • Wipe away any excess paste immediately with a damp cloth.
  • Allow 24–48 hours to dry fully before trimming excess.

Peel & Stick Murals

  • Peel & Stick panels can be repositioned if needed — work slowly.
  • Start from the top and use a squeegee to apply from top to bottom.
  • For removal: peel slowly at a 45° angle to avoid wall damage.
  • Best on smooth, painted walls. Not recommended for textured or heavily embossed surfaces.
